Ski / Snowboard Fare Alert! EWR/LGA-DEN $214

Is it too early to think about snow fares? I say NOPE!

United & Delta have a lot of $214 fares from New York to Denver through the end of snowboard season in mid-March.

For your convenience, this price is available from either EWR or LGA.

I’d love to jump on this, but I’m already low on vacation days for 2013! I will gladly settle for Whistler in February though.

I don’t really know how long this will last so it’s better to make some speculative bookings now and then plan quickly! If things don’t work out, you can cancel on both Delta and United.

REMEMBER, both Delta & United have 24 hour risk-free cancellation policies where you can cancel your ticket within 24 hours of the original purchase for a full refund.

New York – San Francisco / Los Angeles Fare Sales

Seems there’s a nice fare war going on between American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Virgin America, and United Airlines.

Between either New York and San Francisco or New York and Los Angeles, the fares on all three airlines are at $238 for the nonstop flights.

I’m sure you all know that that’s a really good deal for those flights.

The sale looks like it continues until the week before Christmas with plenty of availability.

The best availability looks like Delta right now. Also, Delta & United have risk-free cancellation policies that the other two airlines don’t. You can cancel a ticket for FREE as long as you do so within 24 hours of purchasing the ticket.

It’s very handy for sales like this because you can buy now and figure out details later. If things don’t pan out, just cancel the ticket before 24 hours and you won’t lose a penny!

Another Birthday Back in South Beach: Delta Airlines Fort Lauderdale (FLL) – New York (LGA)

Well, the annual birthday trip finally had to come to an end. After dining at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink for lunch, we were scheduled to be picked up by GroundLink for our flight in a few hours. It was a bit early so I decided to try my hand tweeting at their customer service account to see if pickup could come sooner.

Amazingly enough, a customer service rep tweeted me back that she was looking into it. Less than 10 minutes later, she called my cell phone informing me that the driver was about 15 minutes away. Truly great above and beyond service on their part.

Even though I reserved their most basic car, a Cadillac Escalade pulled up to the curb at Michael’s to pick us up. I wouldn’t mind that for the 45 minute ride to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport!

Let’s Plan: Another Birthday Back in South Beach

American Airlines New York (LGA) – Miami (MIA)
King & Grove Tides and Z Ocean Hotel
South Beach Diet
Delta Airlines Fort Lauderdale (FLL) – New York (LGA)

Around this time last year, this whole frequent travel hustle really started to ramp up for me. One of the first real trips utilizing some of the tips and tricks that I’d been learning (and points that I’d been earning) was a trip to South Beach for Joann’s birthday. It was just a simple redemption on Delta (if there is such a thing), but it was really the start of many great things to come. So why not go back to Miami for the weekend of Joann’s birthday? She does love her South Beach.

Since all my vacation days are either gone or booked (wedding/honeymoon + Bali), I could only be in Miami for two nights. The plan for this trip was, as usual, budget travel and budget lodging. We wanted to spend as little cash out of pocket as possible.
