Attention, Chase Ultimate Rewards Members! Don’t forget that on Black Friday, November 25, the Chase Ultimate Rewards Mall will give you 10 points per dollar for whatever you buy on BestBuy.com via the UR shopping mall. This is huge since their normal rate is 2x points. You rarely see anything above 5x bonus points on an electronics and more site like Best Buy.
As long as you have a Chase credit card that belongs to the Ultimate Rewards program, you can get in on this. Those cards are as follows:
- Chase Freedom (no annual fee)
- Chase Sapphire (no annual fee)
- Chase Sapphire Preferred ($95 annual fee)
- Chase Ink Bold Business ($95 annual fee)
Note: You don’t have to pay with the Chase card that is part of Ultimate Rewards in order to get the 10x points; just make sure you go through the UR Mall. I have used my Starwood Amex and the Visa debit card for my Health Savings Account and have always received credit.
The Chase Ultimate Rewards Mall is one of the best online shopping portals out there. It sure beats the airline ones run by the ever-so-flaky Cartera Commerce that either don’t post your bonus points or post after 6-8 weeks and a handful of emails. Chase says that your bonus activity can take up to 45 days to post but in my experience, the longest I’ve waited for something to post is 13 days. That is amazing as far as these shopping portals are concerned.
There are a few things that are not eligible for extra points and here they are:
Not eligible for purchases of gift certificates or gift cards, pre-paid phone cards, warranties, and services including online photo center and digital downloads, long distance or internet service sales. Purchases made on non U.S. sites are not eligible.
As for Best Buy, my only tip is that you join their loyalty program as well – Best Buy Reward Zone. You earn 1 point for every $1 spent in store and online (as long as you enter your RZ# at checkout) and you get a $5 gift certificate after you earn 250 points. Not bad for a little icing on the cake.
Get your online shopping carts ready because it is a ONE DAY sale. After Black Friday, the earning rate will probably go back down to a measly 2x.
